Still Life of David Riedel (David Riedel)

David Riedel was born in 1956 in Indiana, and lived there until moving to Tempe, Arizona to study art. He fell in love with the south-east, graduating from Northern Arizona University, in 1982 BFA graphics. David still lives in the southwest near Taos with his wife and daughter.

In 1986, David began to attend courses at the Art Students League in New York and continued to go there every year during the month of intensive training for drawing and painting. It was at the Art Students League that David first met and studied in accordance with internationally-renowned artist David Leffel.

It is easy to see that the influence exerted on David Leffel. Like the old masters style chiaroscuro painting, most of the work Riedel "is characterized by its deep background color, lending certain dynamism and energy to his subjects. His use of dramatic lighting and rhythmic color, combined with a sense of solid composition, produces work that is eternal in its appeal.

David believes that his primary education will be from Leffel, but he also feels the importance of many artists in Taos and New York. Excitement interaction with other artists creates an environment in which he finds opportunities for artistic growth. Riedel believes that the creation of fine art not only as a result of the acquisition and improvement of technical skills, but also a lot of practice and full information content of a single life. "Painting is an explanation of the process: an evolution of who I am."
